Case Study
Private Art Gallery Auckland: When asked to design an effective and none intrusive security system to protect over $50m worth of art we opted for a layered approach. At the perimeter we installed 20 point to point beams concealed inside lighting bollard. Located around the bollards were 12 speakers disguised as rocks. On the roof of the building 3 PTZ cameras were installed and programed to the point to point beam locations. In the event of an intruder the beams would be broken and send a signal to the monitoring station. The operator at the monitoring station would see and track the intruder in real time form the PTZ camera and also talk to them through the speaker rocks. The second layer of security was around the decks and walls of the building. Here external PIRs monitored the building and fixed cameras with speakers enabled the operator again to see and talk to the intruder. The third layer was a combination of security sensors and access control. The project value was around $240,000.00
